Still can't name patterns? Shoot me

Yeah, no way to name patterns. Ok so the work around is naming kits, that kind of works EXCEPT

There’s no way to scroll through your pattern/kits names, so there’s no way to know which pattern/kit you’re about to select until you’ve ALREADY selected it.

This means memorizing all locations of all patterns in the bank.

DOES THIS ACTUALLY WORK FOR ANYONE?! I mean I’m not dumb, but isn’t the point of having a computer that you DON"T NEED TO MEMORIZE?!?!?!

Notice on Electribes how you can scroll through patterns to find the one you want, then select the one you want when you want. Notice this feature also on EVERY OTHER GROOVE BOX EVER.

Why is this integral and basic function missing from both the A4 and the Octatrak.

I love these machines, but this one blaring feature omission has me looking for alternative machines… Does this problem exist on the Tempest? What other machines can I look at that allow me to actually save and view patterns before I switch them while jamming?

The frustration this is causing me is just too much. I can’t work like this…

hey hex

afaik

pattern a1 has the name patter a1 and cant be changed.

same goes for b5 or c7 … and so forth …

i usually write the pattern name into the KIT name when I rename a KIT …

bear in mind that there will be more confusion about kit / pattern / sound relationship for you to discover

cheers bro!

I have no problems working this way. My kits ARE linked to patterns (as intended) anyways, so it’s fine for me. It sounds to me like you need to be working in Song mode
