Rubber Coating on Buttons

Hi Folks, The rubber coating on all of my buttons on the DT are becoming sticky. The only exception is the Function button. I never used any type of cleaner on it, however I popped off one of the Trig buttons and tried to clean it with a paper towel and rubbing alcohol but it’s starting to wear off the paint. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I opened a ticket w/ Elektron to see if they can send me new buttons.

Rubber coating deteriorating

The buttons are cheap and easily replaced. You can pop them off with a guitar pick or something similar. Then just push the new ones into place.

Digitakt keys sticking dirt

Oh man. Thats why I hate that rubberised crap they insist on using. Same thing happened to the mod wheel on my moog. Total gunk fest. I took the wheel off, soaked it in methylated spirits and scrubbed it all off. Yuk. Theres just no need for that rubberised coating. Id take the button caps off, clean them. Dry them properly then refit. Pain in the neck, but an easy enough job.
