Step time note length on samples vs cycles

Hi. Recently purchased a samples and loving the difference and similarities

On model samples, when in programming sequence mode, if i press and hold the note trig button, the pitch, velocity and note length value shows as adjustable using the orange top left encoder

BUT my experience the length value does nothing audibly on the samples and doesnt interconnect with another parameter, like cycles does

When i do this process on cycles and click “gate” mode then i can hear the notes respond to the length durations entered ( both internally or to midi outboard gear) When “gate” switched off the length values do nothing

Is it therefore the case that the note trig length parameter does nothing on model samples?

I know i can edit each note decay setting to adjust note decay so just wondered if this is a feature anomoly ?

From memory I’m pretty sure you’re right, certainly the hold/gate feature from the cycles is missing and I don’t remember anywhere else the note length has an impact. But I stopped using the m:s when I got my DT2 over two years ago, so it’s possible someone else will come along and correct me.

It makes a difference when you use single cycles osc with loop.
