Static to Flex, Flex to Static

I know I’ve seen the menu somewhere but I can’t find the answer searching the manual or the forum so, yeah, how can I convert a static track to a flex track and vis versa?

You mean keeping settings?
AFAIK, no.
From a Flex track, you can copy / paste each page in another Static track, copy / paste the Static track to the Flex track. Fast conversion isn’t it ?

Without keeping settings :
Double clic on Playback, choose Flex or Static.

Damn, I didn’t realize that. Guess I’ll wait for OctaEdit to be available again. Thanks.

Static and Flex are different types; but the parameters are the same. The only difference is memeory (Flex) vs Card (Static) and some behaviour (LFO etc)

Should be quite easy to transfer from Static to Flex and vice versa.

Yeah I think I was thinking of the sample edit menu where one can assign to either flex or static. I’m just realizing now that I have worked on a track that I want one of my static tracks to be flex so I can modulate the start point and pitch with better results.

The fx and edit page parameters will stay the same if you change the machine from static to flex, but flex has a different slot list so any trim/slices and stuff you have to redo for the slot…

I haven’t done this much so I don’t know if you “save sample settings” from static if they will load correctly for flex… The “save sample settings” makes a .OT file for the sample containing its trim/slice/etc info…

Also I’ll add that the same sample can be loaded to different slots, to have different trim/slice/etc., for either flex or static…

I could / should probably write a couple of little functions for that, “Convert Machine from Static to Flex” and “Convert Machine from Flex to Static”

Only one little issue popping into my mind at the moment…

Edit: I mean, of course there are already ways to do it in OctaEdit. Just thinking I could write a little one shot function in the Sequencer module for this specific scenario… hmmm…

That would be amazing.
