which store? looks like all US orders are held up in customs
So with Clips. Can I jam several clips for several minutes and it’ll record my jam session? Curious.
A little clunky but this is a big deal and solves something that did my head in with how patterns worked.
That…is a phenomenal question. I hadn’t thought it would have been possible. But it might be
Edit: I was thinking externally
Just tried it. It doesn’t work. Clips don’t loop
Can you not just use the regular patterns for that then?
No, unless you make very long scenes
Can you step sequence a synth pattern? Like hold a step down and choose the note? For example, if I wanted to sequence an acid pattern with 16 x 32nd notes (which would be difficult to record live).
Assuming you can step sequence different notes, are they limited to the selected scale?
Does anyone know about the software limits, in terms of what OS it will support?
Although the hardware is stand alone, if I have to upgrade my OS every year to use the Maschine software, then I’m not interested.
In the past, did Maschine software stay compatible with one or two previous Mac OS’s?
Are you sure you’ll be able to connect an MC-707 to the Maschine+ via USB and record audio?
I think so, the MC707 does class compliant usb audio with the latest 1.60 firmware update. The M+ supposedly can use a class compliant usb audio interface… Will try once I receive my M+ and report back…
Thanks, I’m interested to know this
I can connect my Digitone to the M+ without any issues and record the audio so if MC707 is class compliant it will do the same.
Nice, do you know if you can power the Maschine+ from USB power?
I’m thinking if it can be powered by USB in controller mode then maybe it can power by USB in standalone?
M+ needs it’s power brick, with USB it will only work in controller mode like a MK3
From the MC707 update manual, in Roland-speak
USB-Related Functions Added (Generic Driver Function)
Generic driver function
You can now connect this unit to your smartphone or other device (iOS) via USB to transmit and receive MIDI and audio signals between the devices.
So you can send MIDI and record audio all via USB at the same time?
If so that’s handy as you free up the audio inputs for stuff that isn’t class compliant
Yeah, I think so… If I understand correctly you can even add a multichannel USB audio device as long as it is class compliant and then select which input you sample from on the M+
Limitation is you can only sample one stereo pair at a time maximum…
But you could have four external synths connected at the same time (e.g. two class-compliant stereo synths via USB and two mono synths via L and R) and still hear them all playing back through the Maschine+ together? I’m thinking this could mean not having to even use a mixer or external audio interface for a small setup.
Then choose the input if you want to sample?
There can be only 1 active soundcard ! If you plugin in a Digitone it will use that soundcard and disable the M+ soundcard. Its not possible to aggregate audio devices yet.
