This opened up a universe of possibilities for live jams for me—it occurred to me yesterday and it works. I’ve searched through the thread for now, but it seems that no one has posted this yet (at least not in the ST Tips & Tricks thread)—I’d be surprised if no one has ![]()
Turn one pattern into four different pattern variations without changing patterns – or four extended fill versions. This only works if the pattern length is 16 or 32 steps.
Create a 64-step pattern.
Press FUNC + PAGE.
Set the master length to 16 steps and keep the pattern length at 64.
Press play and then go into grid record mode.
Press and hold PAGE.
Each page now functions as a 16-step pattern that loops (green buttons 1–4) and can be jumped to directly, provided you deactivate the active pattern while selecting the new one – two-finger action = instant page jump ![]()
but this is just the beginning. think about what you can do with this. together with soundpool locks, different master lengths and defined variations you can design a truly dynamic pattern setup.
