ST + DT + iPad Pro

If I connect my iPad Pro to my Syntakt via usb and then my Syntakt to my Digitakt via TRS (TS? lol) would I be able to sample both my ST and IPad with the DT?

Also would I be able to use the iPad to record? What would the limitation be on audio coming into the iPad in this setup?

Had a look around and judging by similar threads I think it’s possible but would like confirmation because am smooth brain.

Cheers

It works - though it’s easier to connect USB to the Digitakt rather than the Syntakt.

The USB connection supports audio in and out - so this lets the Digitakt sample audio from the iPad, and the iPad can record the output from the Digitakt (or add effects).

Audio from the line-in connection (Syntakt) will also be passed over USB.

The only real downside is that it’s all mixed down to stereo, rather than individual tracks like you’d get when connected to a computer via Overbridge.

I normally use AUM or Loopy Pro for recording, but I’m sure you could use Garageband or other free apps.

Ah okay yeah that makes much more sense, I’m unnecessarily going via the ST from the iPad when I can just go straight to DT from both.

Thank you for helping me clear that up in my mind!

Would be nice to be able to separate the tracks out to iPad mind you, I wonder if that is possible in the future?
