Sssnake cable advice

So… I have the sssnake MPP8030 8 jack cable and it works great, but, now with some more equipment to hand, its just not flexible enough to reach all of the inputs and outputs I want. I am trying to resist buying 8 Cordial CTI 3 PP-RD as they are expensive, so my question is this…

Can I simply get out a stanley knife and disassemble the sssnake into 8 different cables?? Has anyone done this, and if so, what was the outcome?

Many thanks!

Yes. Be careful!

Thanks for the feedback Peter! I was worried that it may have been a multicore cable, and that cutting away the external plastic material would have left me with unshielded cables leaving me with noise etc. I’m a complete novice with cables, but may give it a go later. Not too important, but have you done this with your own MPP8030 before?

Sorry, I have no experience with that particular cable.

Start with cutting 1 cm at a time and see what happens.

All good! I eventually contacted the manufacturer for confirmation. The Sssnake is essentially 8 stand-alone cables sealed together under a flexible sheath. It is annoying and time consuming to take it off, but, I slowly and carefully cut it off with a scissors. Care is needed as you could possibly cut or damage an audio cable wrapped up inside… but I am now the proud owner of 8 standalone audio cables. That suits my needs for now, but I may go for higher fidelity cables in the future if I need them. Thanks for the encouragement Peter.
