Sram error sps1 machinedrum mk2

hello friends. Does anyone know where I can take my sps1 machinedrum mk2 to be repaired in Mexico or somewhere nearby? has a SRAM ERROR
Right here, someone recommended changing the battery and disconnecting-reconnecting all the terminals propperly. I have done it but it still shows SRAM ERROR
I live in Mexico.
I have created a ticket on elektron.se.
But I can’t register my shipping and billing address on their site. I have sent them several emails asking for their help, but they have not responded.
I guess maybe they don’t provide service for Mexico.
please, help me and my friend sps1 THANKS

You should not expect an answer from Elektron support for vintage gear. When my non-UW MKI’s front panel failed, I couldn’t get a response from them for a year. However, you might try contacting the official Elektron distributor in Mexico, HolaWave. There is some chance they may be able to help you with service.

In your case, if the SRAM and CPU power buses are fine, most likely replacing the SRAM chip will help. There’s also some chance that the problem is related to a faulty CPU (faulty SRAM connection bus). Unfortunately, these components have already been discontinued, but with proper persistence they can still be found in stock.

The most pessimistic scenario is mechanical damage to the PCB. Since Elektron does not provide service manuals for vintage boxes - it will probably be cheaper to replace the whole board than to pay a specialist to diagnose the PCB.

In any case, even if HolaWave can’t help you in any way - you can try to contact any experienced technician dealing with, for example, laptop repair. If the problem is with the SRAM chip, the CPU, or their power buses - the repair will not be a big problem.

Best wishes, SJ

thank you very much, mate!
