SoundPaint VST- thoughts?

Soundpaint

Manufacturers blurb-

Soundpaint™ is a free and advanced software technology** designed to offer the highest degree of fidelity and realism possible for digital music instruments.

The technology has taken 8 years to develop. Everything is built from the ground up, including a new proprietary algorithmic audio format that allows us to render instruments in real-time.

The Soundpaint™ engine uses all the natural (im) perfections of instruments and can sound completely realistic or synthetic. It also has analog behaviors built-in.

My take-

I remember when this came out the headline was samples without velocity layers, seems to work well. The engine (VST) is free and of a very high quality, superb FX and modulation. You can get 3 free packs which consist of full programs and the ‘parts’ (partials) to make your own- a lot can be had from the free stuff alone, so highly recommended, but other packs are pretty cheap- from $15-$50 typically. so not too bad- check out Dunescape and Palidrome for example.

PS- they are doing a thing at the moment where new users (and refers) get a $15 voucher, so feel free to use this link and we both get one! http://soundpaint.refr.cc/seanclarke

Well, I was impressed enough to buy Panindrome 2 (you also get some more off if you subscribe to the newsletter). It’s very good, high-quality samples (70Gig) and easy to make your own stuff as you have all the parts as well as the pre-sets. I think it was about 40 bucks with the newsletter discount, may have to pick up the ‘Dune’ sound pack as well as I am liking what comes out of this…
