Soundcloud stats broken?

Is anyone else experiencing issues with their Soundcloud stats?
If I look and the last week or 30 days it all looks fine but when I switch to ‘Last 12 months’ I now only see data for March, November and the start of December. All the other month’s data is missing. Trying custom ranges also draws a blank.
Just wondering if I’m the only one?

It’s glitchy for me too.

My stats are the only thing propping up my fragile ego and validating my pathetic attempt to consider myself a musician…if they take away those I might as well have stuck to playing the triangle…badly. :zonked:

SoundCloud stats are meaningless, especially now. I know it’s easier said than done in our current climate, but do try not to get too wrapped up in the idea of reaching as many listeners as possible - if you enjoy the process and make a real connection with a few people along the way, that’s what counts.

On a directly related note - stick a link to your SoundCloud here, I’d love to check it out!

I’ve used it as a bit of a litmus test to see what people actually like. Also the posting of tracks to my Soundcloud account has been a bit of a challenge to myself to try and create regular musical output since starting this musical journey a year ago.

What has been great is getting a few followers who make electronic music so it’s been a good way to discover others with similar aims.

i have a theory that soundcloud did some sort of internal reorganization and finally has some plans on how to improve the platform. i’ve experienced more glitchiness and they’ve been adding more “social” features over the past year so I think they’ve been at work on the backend. I’m really hoping they are gearing up to bring back Groups.

Just as a little update on my stats issue, I’m now seeing the following notification when I go to my insights…

So I guess this is a known issue to them and work is afoot to fix it.
Fingers crossed…

Hi, I’ve been exchanging emails with soundcloud on this very issues which has been ongoing for sometime now, but today when I looked the message has gone after my last email which they did not reply to and I quote:

Thank you for your continued support. To follow up on the banner notification issue, I would like clarification on how SoundCloud determines who is affected by the reported discrepancies if the banner is visible to all Next Pro users. This lack of specificity is concerning because it does not allow me to discern whether my account’s stats are accurate.

I have attached two screenshots for comparison, showing a significant drop in my stats from August to December year-over-year — for plays in 2022 compared to plays in 2023. Additionally, the comparison of December alone for the two years shows a marked decrease. Based on these comparisons and a noticeable drop in engagement over several months, I believe my account has been impacted by the issues mentioned in the banner.

I think it is also important to remember that accurate and reliable statistics are part of the service we pay for on Soundcloud. They are not merely numbers; they represent the reach of our work and help us to understand our audience, tailor the engagement, and strategize for future content. Insights are a tool that allow us to make the meaningful connections that we all value.

Anyway, can anyone tell me if the message is still on their profile Insights?

Thanks,

my understanding was the discrepancy was that is showed 0 plays rather than the accurate number, i was not aware it was possible to show any other random number number in between. when my account was effected, it simply showed 0 everywhere, and then it went away shortly. i dont think you would see consistent results from this problem like you are describing.

My stats slowly reverted back to normal in a number of obvious steps back in December. The banner warning me of the issue fluctuated a little after it was fixed, coming and going, but I think my historic data has remained stable since it was all recovered.

Mine seemed to set some months to zero and some seemed to retain data. During the fix it switched to having, what looked like, all my play counts split across two random months. Finally it all settled down and looks about right.

very strange! really makes you wonder who theyre hiring out there in germany, theres gotta be at least two competent web devs out there right. no hate to the current ones but soundcloud really does seem to know how to do the absolute worst job on all of their development projects

yeeeesh yeah now that im looking at my insights, it seems to show accurate historical play counts for the months but when i hover over them it only shows my “top tracks” stats for those months, even if they werent released at that time. its all a mess. no longer showing me the banner at top either

I still get the banner :man_shrugging:

So I have since replied again with this.

"I have noticed that the banner regarding the Insights discrepancies has been removed from my profile. However, I have not received any communication confirming that the issues I’ve been experiencing have been resolved.

Could you please provide an update on the status of these discrepancies? Has there been a resolution to the issues that were causing the inconsistencies in my Insights data, or has the notification been removed for another reason?

Additionally, my concerns regarding the impact of these discrepancies on my subscription value remain unaddressed. I would appreciate a substantive response to my previous message, where I requested consideration for an adjustment to my subscription due to the ongoing issues.

Understanding the status of these matters is important for my continued use of the platform and in determining the value of my Next Pro subscription.

Thank you for your prompt attention to these questions."

So I’ll wait and see what the response is.

There was a typo missing the .com out of the address. Fixed here for anyone wanting to check out your tunes.

Thank you for that, much appreciated.

For my part, I have the impression that my stats are inflated on the contrary… I have an average of 100 to 200 listens per month for several months (so not much), since December it has doubled, I’m obviously happy, at first, but looking closer, I’m in 3 classic Souncloud playlists (while I’m more into trip hop but the song is indeed classic, in short), when I look at the detail in a day, I sometimes find the same playlist 4 times with different counts…so I obviously question myself
which is, moreover, ironic, in my case, is that after 2 years of use my storage was full, so I activated next pro in … November … great premium experience, with the impossibility in December of having stats … lol anyway, I really like Soundcloud but …

i think i’ve been experiencing the same thing but i think its apart of soundcloud Next Pro plan where they push new uploads to more peoples “next up” or similar type of recommendations. a few of my uploads appeared on those soundcloud playlists too, i think mine was in a Chill R&B playlist or something. then when i look at the actual listeners its some User719385729 type username. i dunno what theyre doing but it doesnt feel organic. ill consistently get 100-200 plays on the first day that are all from a soundcloud algorithm

@schoolbabyboy unfortunately no here it’s a bug because I’ve been in these playlists for a few months already without a pro subscription and I didn’t have the same playlist several times in the stats… for the moment I haven’t felt any premium bonus in any case on my latest pieces :joy:
