I just bought a new android smartphone because I lost the old one and I reinstalled all the apps (including Microsoft Authenticator), now I can’t access to my SoundCloud account because I can’t find any SoundCloud 2FA codes in Authenticator app anymore and I haven’t the backup codes.
I can’t access my account even from PC, I can’t access from any device.
I can’t pass the two-factor check anymore, my android smartphone doesn’t give me verification codes or anything related to SoundCloud…please, can someone help me??
I contacted SoundCloud support (a bot service) and they opened a ticket for me but I’ve been waiting for almost a month and I’m blocked.
That’s unfortunate. I’m not familiar with this type of lockout. Usually, during sign-in, if you provide the account email address and click on “forgot password”, a link will be sent to that email address allowing you to reset your password. After that, I would think you would be able to establish your security settings
@algorithmtoo yes, it’s true, but this is a ‘2-factor authentication’, in addition to the classic login via user and password SoundCloud requires a second access code provided by some security apps such as Microsoft Authenticator, in my case, after reinstalling Authenticator on the new smartphone, no longer provides me with this code
I think the only way forward might be to contact Soundcloud directly and be willing to provide some way to prove your identity. I’ve never heard of this happening before so I’m at a loss of how to advise.
I hope you’re able to get it sorted out, I can imagine how frustrating it is.
@algorithmtoo I just contacted SoundCloud support (it’s Just a chatbot), they opened a ticket for me about it but I’ve been waiting for their response for a month, I’ve already cancelled my ‘Pro’ subscription while waiting for a solution.
It’s really a mind-blowing situation.
In the end, I bombarded them (politely) with emails to évery soundcloud email address I could find.
Someone got back to me, asked for ID, and finally they fixed the problem (took me about 6 weeks I think)
Paying €99 a year is already a scam, then getting close to zero support? These kind of situations should be illegal. So fuck 'em, go ahead, bombard them (politely )
Unfortunately I have not yet been able to send the support message to the email addresses provided in the previous messages because I’m very busy at these weeks.
I will send them soon, I will update you ASAP.
Solved!..I sent an help message to the email addresses that you left me in this chat and they replied apologizing for the delay and they unlocked my account by eliminating two-factor authentication.
