Soundbrowser - triggering sounds with external midi source

Hi!
Is there any way when going through sounds in the sound browser to play those from external midi instruments?
It is really annoying that as the mini keyboard just has one octave i have to get out of the sound browser, switch octaves and go in again if i want to hear the sound transposed.
now the idea would be to just use an external keyboard but when i connect an external keyboard and play notes it triggers the sound that is loaded to the channel and not the one that is selected in the sound browser.
is there any way around?

Good question, I often wondered this.

I do this all the time, hardly ever use the mini keys.
Ensure your keyboard is set to MIDI channel 9.

You need to be sending midi to the autochannel!

Thanks. gonna try straight away

i seem to dom something wrong :frowning:
i can trigger channels 1-4 which are mapped to the synth tracks 1-4 but then i just hear the sound that is loaded to the track and not the one currently selected within the sound manager or sound browser (which at this point can be played using the mini keyboard).
autochannel is set to channel 9 but when sending midi data on channel 9 i don’t hear any sound

edit: sorted. sent to the vsti instead of making a separate midi channel sending to the analog four midi interface.

thanks a lot. was looking for this for ages

edit 2: again - best thing ever.

No way! I’ve been changing the midi channel on my keyboard every time I wanted to switch the track :open_mouth:

Thanks so much guys!!!

Aaawe yeah thank you guys! It was quite the creativity block having to hop back and forth to get new sounds going.
