DN2 is so awesome but the factory sounds really leave something to be desired… It would be cool if there were a pack with more traditional synth sounds, maybe something along the lines of the DX7 or even some Juno sounding stuff… Sound design isn’t my strong suit, any ideas?
there’s already a pretty faithful DX-7 pack for the Digi-1.
Forgive my ignorance, will this work perfectly on the DN2?
someone who has a Digi-2 would know better than me. my understanding is the OG patches should generally translate 1:1
Ok, appreciate the info…
Yes, this pack works well on DN2, and it’s free. There’s a free kit by Ess, the DN designer, on the Elektron site’s sound packs, that also has good classic sounds and works on DN2
A lot of the DN1 sample packs, official and unofficial, were distributed as .syx files, though, and DN2 isn’t currently receiving those. Anything distributed as .dnsnd or .dnprj (or similar) will work fine.
Cool, thanks buddy!
I agree @log4nz-run - most of the factory sounds are pretty meh.
I bought the Hiss Tones pack (hiss tones // digitone II sound pack | Ash Farrand Design), which I really like. Surprised there aren’t more preset packs like this available, leaning towards the more experimental side of things.
If anyone knows of any, do point me in that direction please. (Not remotely interested in drum sounds, or anything “dirty” or “ominous”)
I can’t find any sound demos of the sample pack. Curious, I am.
Think I just liked the sounds Ash was making in this video : (which is actually just a very long advert)
This link doesn’t work for me
All Dn1 packs work with Dn2. And the pack mentioned by @chrisroland is great. I had it on my Dn1 and it was the first one I loaded onto my Dn2.
Anywhere to listen to these?
My DN2 comes tomorrow and I’ll be working on my 2nd soundpack for it. My first one for the DN1 should still work mostly for the DN2, but it’ll only be FMTone sounds.
That’s what @abat asked, but like I say, I just liked the sounds Ash was making in the above vid. I really recommend the pack - the sounds are super cool, and they’re also really good launchpads to start making one’s own presets.
