With HexCells, Dissonant Witchcraft has conjured up another ferociously spellbinding Sound Pack, full of dynamite for any sampler that handles WAV files but with some magic especially for Digitakt II. There are tons of stereo samples to work with, breaking down as 28 chains, and 175 one shots - 51 of which are loopable. There are also 86 Digitakt II presets, giving you lots of organic options to dissect and flesh out your sound. All together it makes for a hugely versatile pack, crammed with drum and percussion that is slathered in attention-grabbing oomph and wrapped in unfolding grainy goodness.
Let these sounds inspire new tracks, or be the cast-iron cherry-crown on top.
Fanboy moment. Instant buy from me. I don’t even need to hear the demos. @Jeanne videos are what led me to getting Elektron devices and the Syntakt packs are amazing!
I just converted the one-shots to 16-Bit Mono (as Elektron Transfer would do), and then it’s 12 MB
There’s of course also the source material of the one-shots (the chains and loopables).
In the description of the soundpack page it says 206 samples and 87 presets, I just downloaded everything and I have 203 samples and 86 presets, can you confirm my numbers or am I missing something?
congratulations Jeanne, those sound lovingly-awfully gnarly, as always! <3
Also I can’t emphasise enough how I like that there are real sounds in this pack. Well, presets as they’re now called. I found it a bit disappointing that the official Rytm packs I got were all just samples and rarely had sounds (if they had them at all)
Ok thanks, great soundpack anyway, the presets alone are worth the price, I just improvised a track using your presets and some sounds from the dn2, the snares are spectacular, I put one on the left channel and one on the right, I activated the euclidean sequencer on both and I started playing with the pre-mapped lfo modulations in the presets, I’m still getting over the adrenaline…
couldn’t help but just had to create something with the new pack from Jeanne.
This is just Hex Cells on the DTII with a slight bit of BigSky reverb afterwards. Especially the ever changing and not static sounds aka presets are what make this pack just witchcrafty awesome — the BD and Tom here are the drivers in my sketch, they’re directly the presets. Felt no need to change them coz I liked the effect they created.
Thank you! The chains can be loaded up in OG Digitakt and Octatrack, they are either 8 or 16 slices long (there might be one or two being 32 slices long). I suggest putting an random LFO set to “hold”, with the destination slice select. Same for the loops, just with sample position as destination.
Thank you, also Hydrasynth was used for some of the sounds
