Sonicware Liven Evoke - Acoustronic Synthesizer

Quick loop with the Evoke, guitar, and 404! I haven’t had much time lately, so for now this is all I’ve got!

This kind of music won’t annoy your neighbors! You’ll be making too many friends and having people bake cookies for you if you keep this up!

Ha! Please no cookies! I’m weak and don’t need any more sweets around!

im digging this tune i made today at the zoo. controlled the evoke from the ep133 and had a real good time, works seamlessly.

i thought my evoke was broken for the past week because i pulse kept coming out of the headphone jack so i could only use the line output, turns out i had accidentally turned on the pocket operator sync mode, glad to report it aint broken, im just a goofball.

Just got the evoke myself. Digging it quite a bit so far

Am I doing this right? - Sonicware Liven Evoke and Renaissance Flute

Great song! The drums were fabulous!

Maybe it was just me, but what horrible workflow….

The samples sound nice enough, the waves are ok I guess, the granular effects and the reverb were quite pleasant, but the sequencer, pattern management and etc was a nightmare to me. And, I knew this before buying, but the lack of a velocity sensitivity keyboard was something I thought I could work around, but, lesson learned, absolutely no.

Sold it this Friday, hope the guy enjoys it more than I did, which is not saying much. No hard feelings sonicware, but I guess your stuff is not for me.

thank you! my tunes tend to live and die on the drums imo.

I don’t love this, maybe due to how it drones on, but posting anyway. I will revisit this and see what I can do.

Evoke and guitar into the 404:

Hi all,

This is my first jam on the Evoke - lovely little machine. I’ve not made much music in the last six months, but this synth piqued my interest.

I just got the evoke and I’m totally in love I like the sounds and how easy it is to create your own sounds without knowing much about synthesis
Somehow I am not a sequencer person I rather like to record things live and just play intuitively instead of programming things in so I don’t mind if the sequence is complicated

The only problem I have is that one track is rather loud and I can’t hear the other tracks when playing over it so I would like to reduce the volume of only one track but I just can’t find how to do it because it isn’t mentioned in the video tutorial I’ve watched
I know it must be somewhere in the user manual, but I have trouble reading long texts and finding information and user manuals that’s why I always just watch videos when I want to learn a new device

you are looking for the Level knob my friend, in the middle of the second row of knobs

and in terms of manuals, the evoke manual is pretty visual. not so text heavy, i posted this earlier in the thread but its got stuff like this

Something I have found with the Evoke - if you have the granular fx on, then that track will be really loud. Even if you have the track level at 0.

Not found a workaround yet apart from pull back on the send fx. Anyone have any other ideas, or am i missing something (likely)?

Yes, it’s kind of a workaround. I turned the velocity option down by pressing shift and then turning the knob down with the dice above it.
The only problem is when I turn the velocity of another track up and come back to the first track and it’s loud again, but I manage now bye recording one track and then going to the next track and so forth, not returning to the first track
Only thing to keep in mind is when something is recorded the loudness doesn’t change when you turn the velocity knob. If you want to change the volume you have to delete the recording and record it again in the volume you need.

I hope you understand what I mean because I’m not an English native speaker and I don’t know if I’m using the correct words for all the terms

I really like this little machine! But, I’m finding myself needing something else to finish a tune with it. Maybe that will change with time. But for now, here is another tune with the Model Cycles hanging out providing drums and a melody sound.
