This name … I thought there was something on my screen
To be honest I’m confused, LIVEN originally had only one device, now there is plethora of very similar boxes with 1 distinctive engine in each. And several lo-fi sampler options. “Collect all the Pokemons”.
This won’t work for me, not because of the total price, but rather ergonomics (too much space, too many cables, I had it already with Volcas)… Why not one mega-device? They actually have it - ELZ_1 Play, but it’s a limited run/preorder/etc
Tbh this 90s sound is what I wanted to make with all the previous boxes, so I’m interested
That’s a “one special day” chemical for me!
My favorite is:
But yeah. This synth sounds pretty, looks pretty, and I think the Livens are pretty easy to use.
If I wasn’t already running everything I have through the Mood MkII I’d have already ordered this one.
Sounds really nice… Can’t get my head round the power supply though. Would it work with a myVolts Ripcord 9V DC to USB power
I haven’t seen any USB plug, but that should have been an obvious move indeed.
oh this looks very interesting. i’ll probabyl get one and try to sequence it using Orca
I woke up to an order confirmation email from Sonicware. That’s what I get for browsing the internet while drunk I guess.
Probably, with the right size barrel adapter.
From the website:
- 9V DC output AC adapter Current: 1A or greater, Plug Type: EIAJ3 Standard, Inner Diameter: 1.7mm, Outer Diameter: 4.75mm, Polarity: Center + - Compatible with power supplies designed for the Korg Volca1. - 6 AA batteries *The AC adapter and batteries are not included.Available for preorder in Europe, now
or at Perfect Circuit
Yes, that’s true… Needs the right size barrel adaptor, like the model cycles… Thanks
Definitely would 've been a good move to have USB C like the Roland S-1… Sounds good though.
Yeah, USB-C and onboard battery are two things that would have been very attractive in such a small device.
Weird it’s been overlooked.
yea i assumed all the livens had internal lipo & usb C
Welp, first Sonicware device ordered. I love it. Sounds amazing.
With the price, this almost falls into the category of “Why Not ?”. Given that you are likely guaranteed a few pleasant surprises while using, it’s even easier. But maybe this isn’t what you want for ambient synthesis.
Compare this to another just announced product the Round Robin from Magpie Pedals. It doesn’t look too dissimilar with button keys and four lanes with adjustable encoders.
Yet it being almost twice the price, and ( to me at least ) less likely to surprise, it is more in the category of “Do I Really Need This ?”.
Notice too, it doesn’t have a thread. Anybody want to start one ? ADDED : MattLxx did.
Sorry, I keep reading this as “Ambient Phi”, the little sibling of “Anyma Phi”.
I’ve had to switch the title several times trying to get the best “slash zero”.
Make Noise calls their semi-modular the “no coast”. So maybe this has a special name. Ambient Zero seems an odd name to me.
To me also, but we must remember that the company is Japanese, and the word has a certain resonance there, maybe?
Your current symbol is one I use in my papers to denote the empty set, which is perhaps not a connotation the manufacturer wants.
