"Song mode" Digitakt

But that’s kinda…song…mode…no?

Why does Rytm need it? Or A4?
It’s weird to make a device that is so tight on resources already from release that there’s hardly room left for much updates. I know about the ones we got, but still.

Just like the Analog Four was built not to be able to sequence external midi gear.

Originally I think it didnt, but it evolved into that. Perhaps with song mode that would happen aswell on the DT. But I don’t think the DT needs a song made, it would help if it saves the pattern chain that is created and you could see the chained pattern on screen. But if it happen, I won’t mind. Personally hope for other features

  1. Says who?
  2. The Analog Four was never able to sequence external midi gear until Elektron recently went in and ticked a box from “no” to “yes”. Everyone always said that the A4 would never have it, and that it would be too difficult to implement it.

There’s also the fact that someone from Elektron mentioned on this forum (when the DT first came out) that they were working on a viable solution to Songmode.

Please refrain from spreading such disinformation.

Someone from Elektron said that in a thread here on these boards when they released the update that enabled that feature. Someone thanked them, and they replied that all they essentially did was tick a box from no to yes.

You’ll need to cite your sources.

Hearsay doesn’t work here. That’s exactly how disinformation proliferates.

Show me your link, tell me who, show me where.

The Digitakt itself does not need a song mode. Many users might want it to have a song mode but it doesn’t need one, it works fine as it is.

I disagree, and so do many others.

You completely missed my point

All synths work fine without presets, but that doesn’t mean presets aren’t needed.

Who are you to judge others.

If you are happy with redoing all the pattern chains every time you turn off/on the device! Good for you.

Doesn’t mean others have the right to ask to be able to save the pattern chains with the project.
Which basically and essentially is song mode.

See that was not that hard isn’t? Such a little thing that can make a difference for many people!

Why make so much fuss about it and attack people requesting such a little thing. Tjeez.

You’ve taken this entirely out of context, perhaps misunderstood it, and you’ve certainly misrepresented it.

That official works on documentation. Manuals.
He’s talking about the visibility of the feature, i.e. engaging it in the user interface.
He is speaking about the user experience of ticking a box , not the product development.

I haven’t judged anyone.

I don’t use pattern chains.

Wasn’t aware I was making a fuss, just putting my two cents on a public forum.

Who did I attack? How did I attack them?

Please define what the box needs to do/have for a need for a song mode. In that case neither Rytm, A4, OT, MPC needs a song mode. They can all just be jammed with.

Indeed they can.

Hehe. Indeed they can :+1:
But nonetheless, some of us likes song mode on these boxes and don’t see why some of them got it and not the others.
