[SOLVED] Play Syntakt Synth with MIDI keyboard thru Digitakt via MIDI input

ok, my setup is a Syntakt & a Digitakt 2.
I have an external MIDI keyboard that I would like to use on the Syntakt, but the MIDI input is already taken because of the MIDI out from the Digitakt from the clock speed etc.
but I would like to still be able to play the Syntakt to do recording of synths with the keyboard. but the only available input is thru the Digitakt

this may mean I will have to get a MIDI router [which aren’t that much in hindsight at about 40£] that can split or let multiple inputs in to then split to go wherever.
but was just wondering if anyone has tried something like this, im just seeing what my options are before I decide that I need a external MIDI router

if the Syntakt was 128 steps [out of the box] like the Digitakt [which im more than sure will be the next Syntakt hardware update], I would have used the Syntakt as the brain for clock, then I wouldn’t have this conundrum.
if anyone can shed some light, even if that means the answer is just to get a MIDI router, then that’s fine, but asking to see if people have work arounds to keep equipment as minimal as possible to do something like this

many thanks

im an idiot. or at least one that hadn’t thought for another 30seconds or for whatever. either way, done. no extra hardware, though I lose a channel, which in the end is not a big deal

workaround!
• set channel you don’t care about on Digitakt as MIDI. I chose channel 16
• set MIDI controller [I have the MK-425c] to whatever channel the Digitakt MIDI is on
• change channel the Digitakt MIDI channel will affect [which in this case is 7 on the Syntakt], so the Digitakt is on channel 16, but will affect channel 7 on the Syntakt

OK! Done

If you get another box (and you will), and things get midi weird again (and they will), get one of these and then when the cables start getting annoying maybe get a few of these :exploding_head:
