Sold my fifth or sixth rytm lost count why do i never learn?

sooo…
after getting the 1.7 fomo i rebought rytm and had a month with it oohing and aahing about the new machines…anyway once all said and done nothing can touch the MD for pure tone and nothing can touch the a4 for anything else - i want to love rytm but i can’t find a place for it, i want to love sampling but OT has been to complex and rytm has been too limited with its one lfo - so i am back to where i started with md non uw and a4 mk1 - wondering if OT deserves another go or if i wait for dt2 to be finished product or just admit that sampling isn’t for me even though i started on an old korg electribe - arg

just picked up sp404mk2 from a local 'naut - lets see how long it lasts…

Time to stop … buying another won’t be different to the last one you bought.

Try akai / maschine / something else or just stick with an iOS app for sampling.

It’s very stable already, and offers so much!

yeah the OT mk1 deep dive desire burns strangely deep and for a long time, as yet un-doven

better than the discontinued fairy lighted monster sounding sp16?

Never touched one.

But there are so many clever features on the DTII, I would think I’d prefer playing with it rather than an sp16 anyway.

Choose the “right” path and admit sampling isn’t for you and go enjoy the MD and A4, both marvelous machines!

well I just bought my third, after selling my second 2.5 months ago :see_no_evil:

basically it took me getting the Syntakt and using that in unison with OT to realize how much I love the RYTM, and that it’s a better solution for me.

love the advice here - went to sleep chuckling to myself
thanks you beautiful people!
i wonder if there is a relatively simple sample player out there for stuff like vocal hits, maybe it can shift pitch but nothing fancy - anybody know of such a thing?

You’re back to the sp16! I miss mine but not sure why, it’s a big dumb beautiful sounding box, I’d didn’t think much of the interface I suppose. But for launching vocal stems with that filter and you can get one cheap - it is bulky through.

Ah I see you have yours for sale. Ignore me then!

i sold mine ages ago - no sampler at all - i am happy with my md and a4 at the moment - i might take a look at an akai sample player for vocal hits

Me being dumber than usual, another member has one for sale and I got confused. Slap my arse and call me Joe Biden.

So the reason you sell the rytm every time is because of the one lfo?

that and the overall tone i suppose - i loved the grey mk2 as a standalone device but it went eventually to eBay/reverb etc

Have you checked the Blackbox?
Might fit your needs.

You might want to check what other users have to say about it

An SP404 might also be found cheap.

my thoughts exactly as i perused images of the 1010 blackbox one appeared with korg nano pad attached to it and i went ‘hang that is basically an sp404’ which someone on here told me i would throw against a wall if i ever owned it - but then maybe its the portable scratchpad and vocal player i have been looking for…
