Small Midi Controller

Hello

On the search for a small and compact, preferably metal, good quality midi controller with faders and buttons, maybe knobs to control my daw mixer and launch clips/scenes.

Please ignore the colors on the example pic, but something like that. I wouldn’t say I like the cheap plastic options like Korg nano Kontrol etc. Maybe custom-made? But no luck so far in finding anything close. TE TX-6 would also be great but obv not gonna buy it just as a midi controller.

Thanks all

https://midique.com this is not bad, but too big and without buttons, and too many knobs for my needs

Not sure what your budget is, but here’s a few options.

Faderfox UC4

Small and compact, but not everyone’s cup of tea.

Kenton Killamix.

Not sliders, but it has a joystick and very configurable. Also metal.

Novation Zero SL MK2

Discontinued, but can be has cheap second hand and has everything. Not small though.

Then there’s that one that Elevator Sound and Big T did, but it’s just 16 sliders, no knobs or buttons.

Probably best to get on Etsy and start looking for someone that’ll do a custom job.

This is a really cool MIDI controller system. I would love to pick up a few of these to build a ‘bespoke’ setup:

Doubt it is metal, but reasonable price

Thanks all!

So I was looking for a very small midi controller (to control a Blokas Midihub),
and I got this from Etsy?! (You can also buy directly on parkstool.com)

Plug in + go to the website / config CC’s if necessary + play.

But look at how cute it is!
I’m thinking of buying more, so I can glue them on my synths for extra functionality
Also glue one on the side my screen, so I always have MIDI via USB. Maybe.

Please keep us informed how well they hold up!

Have seen Parkstool before, curious about build quality/longevity.

Nice! Makes me again wish for a version of the MIDIHub with a few buttons, encoders and a little screen. What are you using it for?

I’m going to use it to adjust preset settings on the Blokas Midihub.

Example:

  • Adjust Delay speed
  • Adjust Delay amount
  • Adjust ARP speed
  • Adjust ARP type
  • Toggle Delay On/Off
  • Toggle Arp On/Off

The Midihub is cool to set up on a particular musical patch,
but you need some control in a real-live situation.

I thought by now Blokas would have made a Midihub 2, with said additions indeed

Make it control 4 modwheels for Digitone

The 8mu is as tiny as they come but the sliders have a satisfying amount of resistance and there’s a built in accelerometer that you can map to cc’s on an xy axis. I’d recommend the kit to anyone who’s comfortable doing some through hole soldering. It’s a pretty easy build.
