Slow value changes on OT + Launch control XL

Hi everyone,
I’m using the launch control xl (mk2) mainly for audio track levels and cue level (to send any track in external effects).
I’m using the kenton midi to usb device. It’s going thru a midi solution merger then in the OT (mk2).

The main problem i have is :

  • the more faders I touch at the same time, the slower the values change, it’s exponential.

Exemple : pushing fast one fader from the bottom to the top = ok, no lagg.
same thing but with two faders = the corresponding values change more slowly… and so on.
When I push all 8 at the same time, the values take almost more than a second to change.

Can it be from the LC, the merger or the OT?

I bet it’s the merger. Maybe test it by connecting the OT straight to the Kenton?
I’ve had issues with midi clock while sending a lot of cc’s (also from a lc xl2) via a thru device.

I had this same lag issue using a novation launchcontrol (the small one, no faders) and a cheapo usb midi host. Straight in, no merger. I thought it was the cheap usb midi host. :man_shrugging:

Can also be the usb midi host of course, those little boxes have only so much processing power.

I tried the kenton straight in the OT: same “bug”.
Next thing i want to try is to control the OT directly with a midi to midi controller, to see if it’s a usb-midi or an internal OT issue.
