Hi I’m trying and failing to set my slices to automatically align to the triggers by fetching a sample, creating a slice grid, then setting create linear locks but it isn’t working, i don’t get anything programmed into the track triggers at all. I’ve probably missed something basic here… help!

I’m expecting when i create linear locks that all the track trigs when i hit the Circle/Copy button will be lit and assigned to slices, but they aren’t
Oh, press FUNC and down arrow until in slices mode. Maybe that’s what you mean?
oh yes maybe, this is a completely new thing, never seen this slices menu before, thanks, its progress, not getting sound yet but i’m now in the right area. cheers
Sorry, was answering in the grocery line. So if you take a sample and make 4 slices and then set 4 trigs in the sequencer, say steps 1, 5, 9, 13 and then create linear locks slice 1 plays on step 1, slice 2 on step 5, etc
If you want to be able to hit the trigs to “play” them like on a keyboard is when you use the Slices Trigger Mode which means when you hit Trig 1 it plays slice 1, Trig 2 plays slice 2, etc as if it was a keyboard.

That’s the thing. I still wish it could automatically generate trigs corresponding to slices, sample length (for Create Linear Locks).
Eventually generate random trigs with Create Random Locks.

Yeah, it would certainly help in keeping the “feel” of the original sample and make the slicing seem less quantizey all the time. And then you could apply that feel to other samples… yeah. Damn.
