I’d love a demo, since I am not sure how well the instrument would work with an s25 (as opposed to a Kontroller with more keys…).
Has anyone had an issue with dropping and dragging samples into the user patch?
I’ve been doing it happily for months and now suddenly it won’t let me.
Ughhh…
Had been saving up for the Cycles and Auras bundle only to see that it has jumped in price again since I last looked!!!
That’s me done with trying to get it, it was pretty expensive in the first place, I didn’t mind paying the original price but these constant price hikes, especially mid-pandemic, when musicians income is next to nothing is just depressing.
I don’t get why they keep pushing the price up the longer it is out, can’t see the logic in it. Well, they’ve lost one customer in me as I can’t afford close to £400.
@syashdown any chance of a sale coming? I know you offer a bundled discount, but I’m interested in Cycles specifically. This just came onto my radar. Looks really great, but for me, quite pricey at the moment…
SPECTRES out today;
Hmm, any way to load your own samples into the engine?
not as of yet, but S+A have previous added sample import to some of their other engines. That said, you should always purchase based on the current advertised features, and never assume future features are anything but a nice surprise.
True… I have Cycles and Choreographs but only really use my own samples with them. That’s the main draw for me, even though the included content surely sounds great.
got word back that it wont be possible to do sample import for this one, now or in the future.
Appreciate you finding that out and sharing.
That is good to know, cheers
That’s a real shame, I really like Cycles with the sample material it comes with but I’ve been using it a lot lately to add a bit of life to some older melodic loops I recorded years ago.
Not sure which forum category - a sample/preset pack from Slate + Ash. Designed to Cycles but not limited to it.

ELEKTRON MACHINEDRUM VIA SPECTRAL PROCESSING
I got an email today about another pack for Cycles. I normally never think twice about these emails, because I have only ever used the “user source” drag n drop iteration. That being said, I use this every day. One of my primary instruments. So in reading the email regarding a sample pack, I noticed it said besides the samples, they also contain…new presets?!
Can anyone confirm? I do make regular use of the presets with my own samples, but there are only 40 or so presets in either loop or granular mode, and i know each one like the back of my…hand. If these extra packs were to expand the general preset pool, I would def buy some just for that, even though i have no use for the new samples themselves.
Can anyone confirm?
So I have a couple - the most recent I ordered was in August of last year. You get loops in .wav format and there’s other stuff it comes with but I can’t remember offhand if there was an installer that just adds extra presets or not. I can verify later tonight when I get home. They had a “buy 3 get 1” deal at the time.
thanks for your response. If you could verify for me later that would be awesome! To be clear, I’m talking about when you click the “L” or “G” in the upper left and the preset menu appears. I’m wondering if the packs add presets to those general lists.
OK so how it works with their packs is you get the loops and presets as a download package. You then install the loops and presets into the CYCLES folder. Specifically (I’m on Mac)
Native Instruments > CYCLES > Instruments > Packs
When Cycles loads up, the presets from the pack(s) are loaded in the big list.
This is the preset Altare Progression from the Strega pack:
I couldn’t tell you if installing it added more or less options to those areas, but I like the expansions I have.
ok yes I see, thank you so much for that. I think what I was thinking of as “presets” are the loop/grain states, which it looks like remain the same. The actual “presets” are on the left hand menu, which I literally never see or use, as I by default have the “user source” (preset) loaded up. Thanks again for all that!
No problem, I use it almost entirely differently than you do so that’s interesting!
I just saw their new Pulsar and Prophet packs and was wondering the exact same thing. Was hoping for new loop and grain states too.
I love Cycles a lot, but these packs are pretty expensive and I was hoping it would be a bit more clear what the $32 a pack gets you.
Anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking of getting in on the 3-for-2 offer, but $60-80 for 150 loops feels a bit steep.
