how to sample so on the fly? is there a tutorial?
Seems to me they have recorders recording at all times and it keeps overdubbing until they find the sample they want and then enters in the sample trigs. How it stops overdubbing on the sound they want, I do not know. I would assume maybe a input threshold but I didn’t think the OT had anything like that.
Interesting. No overdub.
He triggers sounds and record at the same time, sending a midi message to OT with its trigger to midi converter.
He places trigs with the corresponding recordings as default track sample.
When the sound is ok, he changes the active track, and start again with a new sound.
This can be done quite simply with a regular midi synth.
Plug midi out to OT, and audio cables to record the synth. Make appropriate Rec settings (INAB/CD, ONE, a few steps for LEN).
Play the Combo Rec Note C(60), and tweak the synth. Done.
Once again, with a midi processor, you can use that trick and send a Rec Note when receiving any midi note. Quick chord recordings.
done…it works fine with ableton drumrack.
I hope my quick tutorial helped.
