Let’s hear it for dad jeans skaters! ![]()
Finally someone I can relate to! ![]()
…Those stairs though!
Looks down at multiple compound fracture scars from my ill-spent skating youth…
The Elsewhere book had been out a few weeks now and well worth checking out if you’ve not seen it. Lots of great stories and unseen pics from the UK scene.
Hey, yesterday me/wife and my 2 kids (7 & 11) went to a skate jam in an Epson Skate park in the UK funded by a local skate shop…I think it was the best day of my year
It really had 90’s flavour to it. Skaterham https://skaterham.com (or associates) had built & brought their own sound system too…Dj’s playing hip hop/rap Nirvana , Primus and many great tracks many of which I’d forgotten, and what a f**king great day, all ages Skateboarding (and scootering) with respect and hanging out. Anyway I took a couple of snaps and I think it just summed it all up and wanted to share. Also, so proud of my 7y son…he did the best run he could possibly do.
Life can be a domestic drag these days, but yesterday I felt: “What a time to be alive” ![]()
[EDIT] and one more of my daughter looking focused and psyched:
Nice to hear that skating has still got that inclusive vibe going on.
Just sharing some good news - we just opened a new park in South Seattle. I was a part of the project and am super stoked it’s open!!!
Crazy. I did a IG post with our state legislator that helped get us some money and the post went viral. Homies in South America were sending it to other homies in the states. Anyway. We’re stoked.
Holla at me if you’re ever in South Seattle
Damn that park looks super fun, congrats!
That looks fun. Nice organic looking park - should be some fun lines!
Our local park is being reformed and reconstructed at the moment, and I’m really hopeful it should be a massive improvement on the poorly constructed original.
It’s a great book - I know you have some brilliant photos in it! There’s actually one of my photos in there too (Natas Kaupas demo) but it’s wrongly credited to someone else ![]()
Evergreen built it! The first Evergreen in the city of Seattle. I think Washington State has one other Evergreen park. They’re pretty prolific in Montana
We just got this new one. Gotta love all these unique spots, my parks growing up were always just prefab stuff.
Thanks. Bit annoying when that happens or you get no credit. Such a good book though and with so much in it.
