Single Midi Knob for DN2

(I apologize if this has been asked, i couldn’t find it in search)

Im looking for a single knob, small midi controller than i can plug into the usb port of my dn2 and use with the breath control macro mappings. sort of like creating my own a4 mk2 Qperf knob

i remember seeing Ylva Trax use something like this in one of his digitone videos, but it was diy

would it be possible to make this compatible with the dn2 via usb?

You’re going to need a usb midi host in between. You can’t plug a controller straight into the DN’s usb port unfortunately.

There’s this, which is USB and DIN MIDI (the latter will work plugged directly into a Digitone I or II):

I could build you this, but DN only takes normal (DIN) MIDI , not usb

my issue is that i m always running a launchpad into the dn2, so id need to buy and carry around a midi solutions merge box or something. unless i could run the launchpad into the usb port of the dn2? i dont think ive ever tried that actually

as you can tell, i really do not understand the usb midi host/device concept

OR a more complex solution would be to run both the launchpad (via 3.5mm trs adapter) AND the midi knob (via the 1010 Bento host (or device?) port, then route them both into the dn2 if possible

Thats the best solution for ya, could not build as cheap as this.

Dns usb port just doesnt have midi functionality, i also dont know why they didnt add this.

So u need a merger to merge 2 midi devices into dns only midi in port
