Similarity to Digitakt question

Hello,

I’ve started looking at elektron products and had a fun time playing with a few at the instrument store today.
I came home trying to understand if the octatrack or the digitakt is better for me so I’ve been watching videos to get a better grasp.

I’m really impressed with the simplicity of this part of the video:

He assigns a different start point in the sample to different steps on the Digitakt.
I’m so used to creating keygroups that this way seems so much faster and appealing to me.

Does the octatrack work the same way as the Digitakt in the video, can it do this?

Thanks

Yep

A nuance difference between the two is:

-The Octatrack can have set slices per track
-The Digitakt can have different start points per sample lock

If your main concern is start point locking- both can do it, but the Octatrack can do it better
