Silk Screen Paint

This might be a bit of an odd question but, I was wondering if anyone ever tried to take off the silkscreened elektron logo of their elektron boxes.

I figured that for the digitakt the black base paint should be a different composition than the white paint on top.

Any idea which substance I could try?

Cheers!

Risky.

I think the Elektron boxes are powder coated, at least they seem to be.

You should be able to use a laquer thinner on a rag on most powdercoats without damaging them. I don’t know what the base is for the printing though, so laquer thinner may not have any effect at all.

Curious? Why are you wanting to remove the logo? Could you just put electrical tape over it?

Maybe @Lum works for Akai XD :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s an aesthetic thing, I’m building an all black travel case and the white logo is quite bold compared to the rest of the subtle lettering.

Though I was just curious. Not sure, if ill ever go through with it haha.

Might be easier just to get the Style Flip vinyl set that they just added.

You could always use some matte black tape to cover the logos. I have a friend that covers most of his gear logos with electrical tape.

That’s the last thing I said in my earlier post, but nobody saw it :man_shrugging:t2:

Seems like a simple solution to me. Especially if the edges are cut neatly.

Yeah, silk screening can be removed but I wouldn’t recommend it. I think you have gotten some pretty good ideas to choose from. I say go for the stylefip option IMHO.

Thanks the for all the input guys. Yeah, best option might be the styleflip, but honestly i love the DT s design.

I was just curious if it was an easy fix but it seems i might be more risky than i thought. Which is also a good answer to my question:)

Thanks again!
