I’m meeting up with a tattoed hipster gyrl next week – I’ll ask her.

i want to have some geometric / concentric tattoos on my elbow to impress myself and become more bad ass! I’m always late to trends though.

now you gotta show it/them!

Haha, nooo^^ok, maybe laterz.

Covering yourself with tattoos when you’re 18 yo and high five days a week isn’t the great idea you thought it was. Might take ten years or more to realize it, but it’s never a good idea.

depends on the designchoices!

Yeah sure, also on the budget and how good the tattoo artist is. I mean they can turn out nice, it’s just if you’re really young, your personality and general view on things probaply will change and at that age, permanent decisions aren’t your strength.

I’ll probaply get rid of the tattoo on my right hand some day. I’m fine with the other, just don’t like it on my hand anymore, always visible.

Also the view on tattoos really has changed, now that almost everyone and their grandma have tattoos
at least that’s my perception.

Sounds cool.

The good thing is that it’s in my neck and most of the time I don’t even remember that it’s there

I love tattoo artwork, I appreciate it as an art form but I have never wanted one myself. I do think that in the last 20 years they have become a bit of a cliche. So many really crap ones, and so many people with some little spur of the moment ink, that ends up being regret.

I was surprised to learn recently that a lot of the ink can end up migrating to the lymph nodes and liver, and that some ink is particularly nasty - more so at a “scratcher” shop than an established and reputable artist though, but tattoo ink like everything else these days is faked.

Most of the people I know regret having them, they fade and spread and end up not looking very good after a few years.

It is kind of funny that you used to be considered a rebel if you had ink, now it is the other way around

Who gives a shit.

Tattoos for me are a very personal thing, but I guess these days they’re much more of a fashion thing.

Whatever though, do what you like.

Yeah, the EU has banned some inks recently, IIRC many of those bright colours that became very popular like fiveteen years ago. Apparently they’re particularly nasty.

yup pretty much impossible to get a “legal” coloured tattoo
so lots of tattoo artist can’t work anymore (if they won’t switch to b/w art
)

When I was 19, the lady who owned the best tattoo shops in town (she was also the main artist) was a big fan of my band at the time. She offered to do tattoos on me for free. I got a few, but showed great restraint in not becoming the illustrated man.

I love tattoos, but just think about what and where, you’re getting them before you commit.

these days everyone should have them (the more, the better) – that’s why i don’t.
