Share your AHFX sounds

The AHFX is a great little beast once in a live workflow or tied to a DAW. I have seen but not tried to replicate true AHFX science madness where it’s used to create standalone music too.

Show us where AHFX makes a difference in your work.

1 - Upload an example or two showing what the AHFX adds to the sound, and what the material sounds like without it

2 - Share the AHFX preset or a guide to your setup and use case

This box is amazingly deep and I want a place where we can show off and trade techniques like the appreciation threads for other boxes. I hope there’s enough of us to make this A Thing

Momentary shuffle

I like to use this to complicate drum grooves.

I have a momentary switch connected to control B, but I leave the control on expression mode. When I press the button, it ramps the delay send; when I release the send drops to zero and the residual delay completes its feedback cycle.

The AHFX setup:

In both audio examples the source is my Syntakt.

  1. Ahfx synced momentary delay A-B

The first ~43sec (32 bars) is the dry Syntakt beat. I turn on the momentary at bar 33 (~44sec). I stop the Syntakt after bar 64 and let the delay feedback echo out.

  2. Ahfx synced momentary delay demo

The first ~22sec (16 bars) is the dry Syntakt. I start pulsing the momentary switch to shuffle the beat starting at bar 17. I stop the Syntakt after bar 32 and let the delay ring out.

(Recorded from USB out on the AHFX to iPhone Voice Memo.)

Great use of the delay! Really like the second recording!
