Setup question

Good day Elektronauts,

Have some questions regarding my current (dawless) setup.

Arturia Keystep MIDI out > MIDI in DT > MIDI out DT > Kenton Merger MIDI in

MIDI out 1 > Volca Kick MIDI channel 9
MIDI out 2 > Volca Bass MIDI channel 10
MIDI out 3 > Volca Keys MIDI channel 11
MIDI out 4 > Volca FM MIDI channel 12
MIDI out 5 > MOTU UltraLite Mk3

Then I have each Volca going to 1 channel each on the MODEL1. Through D-Sub.
Fifth channel for DT.

I can control all 5 devices from DT and play all 5 devices from Arturia KeyStep.

I cannot though have the KeyStep Sync out to DT or any Volcas so as to use its ARP.

I have the DT set up to MIDI Sync out (to the Volcas). Should I also check the MIDI Sync in in the preferences so as to have the KeyStep play its ARP?

Thanks for any input,
V

Try using the Keystep as your master clock , so connect your keystep midi out to the DT and set dt to clock receive only.

Thanks
Was thinking as having both options checked in DT MIDI Preferences. Would not that work?

Should work ,but don’t connect anything on the midi-in or sync-in ports on your keystep ,otherwise you’ll get a midi feedback loop that could freeze your digitakt .

I have a similar Setup.
The Keystep is picky with the ARP, you definitely need it to be the clock master as stated above but also hit play to get it to start.

because of this I like to record the ARP sequence into the DT and play it back from there

Will do this instead. Record ARP into DT.
