The “first sentence of ‘A Tale of Two Cities’” vibe continues for me in this thread. One post I’m like “Yes! Brilliant track!” and the next post I’m “Why did you remind me of that horrible piece of shit, even by just mentioning the title!”

This thread makes a good case for the 80s as the best decade for music.
I’m posting this because it is an absolutely incredible indie guitar jam, and also because one of the band died recently and I don’t have a better tribute.

I feel you. I hate a lot of 80s pop that gets recycled for “80s night” but there was a lot of fantastic music made in that decade (and every other).

In general, I used not to like 80s music or artists, but have come around to some.
Last night I listened straight through Roxy Music - Avalon from 1982:
and was reminded how beautiful the music, instrumentation and production all are.
