Serato Studio

really, what have they done together besides this?

Pioneer just BOUGHT serato

thanks to you I know that, I’m saying what relationship have they been having that you were speaking of, I wasn’t aware they had been in bed together prior to this

serato always worked closely with pioneer for/with their DJ hardware.

just trying to dominate the DJ booth, thats all.

ok I see… I don’t trust pioneer with something as good as serato, they didn’t do the sp16 right, but they do have the moola so hope it works out… I like serato

yeah…the sp16 was a bit of a let down. i chalk that up to the same thing that the Tempest went though, and the inevitable sale of DSI/Sequential to Focusrite group. Could be Dave’s health was just going downhill at this time. Dunno.

But we’ll see if Serato starting getting that eye watering Pioneer pricing soon

haha it’s definitely gonna get shiny

The DJ software game is in a really weird place right now.
Dang.
I haven’t been DJing for a few years now so I’m kind of out of the loop.
It feels like the whole arena has been on hiatus tho.

I agree, feels a little aloof like

I’ve always been curious about Serato studio.

Off topic, but Serato dj centric…

I just got one of these Reloop Flux boxes so I can use Serato with my Model 1.4 mixer and I’m really excited about it. I’m kinda new to Serato and didn’t dig using a specific mixer or controller with a bunch of screens and pads.

I’m sooooo late to the party. I try to avoid learning or even investing any attention into new things when my old things (Logic, Live, Maschine, MPC, SP) aren’t broken. Well, Maschine broke and Logic has been feeling a little less inspiring to me lately so I’ve been flirting around a bit…

Lo and behold I had a free gift of 3 months free of Studio in my Serato account. Bruh!!! SERATO STUDIO IS THAT PIF!!! :dash:.

I love what they’re doing. It’s simple and very focused like much of my more recent gear expenditures (Roland MV-1, SP MK2).

I love how Serato Studio and Roland’s Zenbeats focuses on drums (ala FL) while giving you all the tools to make sure each hit/element slaps like Big Mama catching you with your finger in her Cobbler.lol

Studio takes their obvious love for Hip Hop to the next level with so much attention to the sampling. The algos are outta here. Stems?! huWHAAAAAT?(lil Jon voice).

I haven’t had this much fun since I figured out how to perform and distribute my dope with SP! Get high!

If anyone on the fence with Serato Studio happens past this post…don’t be dumb forever bro. Hop off that fence and get to slap’n !!!

This :poop: is FRESH!!!

I’m with you on this.
I was fully hardware as I could not get into the flow with software but Serato Studio really clicks with me.
Can I do proper sound design? No, but I can get a beat going in no time and as I’m using my Roland Sp-404 mkii as a sound card, once I have a few loops going, I just sample them and I’m done, I’m super impressed.
I had to add a few vst plugins, a graphic eq as sometimes you need a bit more control and a distortion, but I’m just super happy and super productive. The effects are simple but work, sidechain is a one-button affair and chopping is so easy it should be illegal.

I only wish you could more easily record into the sampler, but apart from that, I’m good.

I’m with you on that for sure.

All about having specialized tools for me these days so I love Studio’s focus on sampling vs sound design. I’ll continue to do my sound design on ipad (Twin, Moogs, Korgs, Drambo, ButterSynth, endless sound design options via touch), my HW synth collection and real instruments…. They’ll all find their way into SP-404 anyways.

It’s ironic because i always thought simplicity was using one DAW, groovebox, etc…mastering it to get the best results. Cool. I’ve done that but what I’m learning now is that having several tools that inspire you is as or more productive.

iOS music production was a game changer for my production and business. SP was a revelation. Studio appears to be even gamechangier!lol. Speeeeeeeed and FUN in a DAW? Who woulda thunk it.

I’ve completed 2 tracks in the past few days beginning in Studio faster, funner and better than anything I’ve done in years.

Van Glorious.

This was a quick beat made in Serato Studio then uploaded to Serato Visualiser, sampling some stuff from a previous track I released last year…

Thanks for turning me on to this one! Super fun once you get the hang of it. Chopping up records as we speak

This plus either MPC or SP-404 = beat making on steroids.
