Sequencing an SH-101 from the Analog Four

@trabant
If your SH101 is all over the place in terms of tuning, it is very likely that your power button is to blame. Try tapping the button and see if this affects the tuning of your sh101 - if it does, there is no doubt. Check this before you start tuning it with the internal trimmers.

This is basically the idea, but then with the A4.

tapping did not do much

Can you post your SysEx ?

Bit of a tangent but for techno magic use the 101 sequencer and trigger the steps from A4. Have a different number of triggers in the A4 pattern than the number of steps in the 101 pattern. Druggy polyrhythmic 101 lines ensue.

I was experiencing the same CV control problems from A4 to SH-101.
I was able to control barely one octave.
Then, I opened up my SH-101, went through the whole tuning procedure.
Now, the above mentioned settings work perfectly. (N1=C2 & V1=0.000, N2=C5 & V2=3.000).
I have 4 octaves controlled from A4 without any issues.
Also, definitely replace your power button. It screws with your tuning.

Incredible, these two beasts together. But I can’t get the 101 in tune either. When I trigger it from a Bee TD-3, all is well. But somehow with the A4 something isn’t right… I can’t put my finger on it.
But boy,… the arp, sequencer, legato control on the A4 + SH-101 = Divine Combo :slight_smile:

The A4 CV is very precise, if you have a multimeter you can verify this, in the SH-101 service notes there is a CV scaling procedure, it is a little fiddly but easy enough to do, if you need the service manual I have a clean PDF that I can send.
