Select kit with MIDI?

Just ordered a Rytm (for the second time).
I will sequence it exclusively from a DAW. I was wondering if there is a way to select the kit with MIDI. Or is the best way to make empty patterns and recall patterns instead ?

Also, did I miss it, or there is nothing accessible via Sysex (except loading/receiving data) ?

And a quick off-topic question :
Is there a way to make audio “buses” to route, like, the kick on its own output and the rest to another pair ?

Thanks.

You need to select a pattern via program change, you attach a kit to pattern. I don’t think there is any way to change a patterns kit via midi.

Overbridge!

Could you be more specific ? You can route anything to any output when using Overbridge ? I plan to use the Rytm alongside a DAW, using a soundcard. Does overbridge make it possible to use 2 sound cards at the same time ?

Using Over bridge you can load the plugin and get each track individually into ur daw which you can use alongside a soundcard, then even route out a regular soundcard outputs if you want.

However - Rytm has added bonus that you can actually route sounds TO a track with overbridge (see side chain input in the plugin)

While the physical outputs on rytm are hard wired to each track, you can disable the synth-sample on a track and open the envelope to infinite release and actually use the 8 individual outs as 8 mono outputs as you would a sound card… Alternatively keep the synth/sample and then add additional voice from your daw thru the same voice :o

EG you could have a vst running thru the analog filter and overdrive etc.

Thanks a lot for the explanation. I’ll discover it when I have it, I guess.
A part of me is scared of using overbridge on stage, as I’m super concerned about stability and sustainability. I don’t like to rely on plugins and use nearly none of them for that reason.

same though i’ve not had really any issues with instability - I see overbridge really as an awesome studio tool.
If playing live I’d want as simple a setup as possible. OB can be simple with just a single stereo out though if you don’t want to deal with all the wires and just have a usb cable

IMO if you’re thinking about multitracking live then a single USB cable will make at least the setup a lot more simple
