Seemless linear slices - long recording experiement

Hello, I had an idea today for arranging and developing long recordings from an external source so they can easily be spread across patterns to be developed with the octatrack.

The idea is to make a long recording, slice it into equal parts and trigger each slice in a new pattern so the recording would be split into multiple parts across the patterns.

After doing this i’ve found the transition between the slices isn’t seemless, there is a jump between each slice.

My knowledge of the octatrack isn’t too extent, just wondering if there’s something i’m missing which would enable smooth, seemless transitions between the slices?

Edit: Also, if anyone has any ideas or tricks which would achieve something similar please let me know, would like to work with long recordings (mostly arrangments recorded from the DT) which I can work with in the octatrack, build drums over multiple patterns etc.

I’m sure someone else will chime in (or perhaps you can attempt first if at your machine) - how do slide trigs impact slice triggering - does placement of slide trigs give smoother motion?

cheers for the input! thats a good shout. have given it ago although I think because there are no values between SL1 and SL2 etc it behaves the same unfortunately

Nevermind, i’ve sorted it. Increasing the release helped at first but was behaving strange because I think it I was recording in odd pattern scales and steps, something wasn’t syncing correctly. Tried it again in a shorter 64 step recording and will be seamless if you increase the release and set attack to 1. Should work when applied for longer samples too.
