Search for a tactile midi controller

I love playing midi using my PC keyboard or the buttons on the digitakt. The feedback from the switches feels way better than midi keyboards or pads. I want a controller with 64 digitakt buttons, or a mechanical pc keyboard designed just for note playing. Some of the new gaming keyboards (wooting 60he) have Hall-effect switches which send analog signal based on the pressdepth, there’s already programs to use this for midi velocity & aftertouch, but idk how well this works…

does anyone fw me on this… maybe im just a FREAK

You know about Midi Fighter 64?

I’ve seen one of those norns grid type controllers with tactile switches. That might be along the lines of what you’re looking for.

Grid is really cool, but the interface is annoyingly obscure. I guess that’s one of the setbacks of the open source nature of Norns.

Fair enough!

There are some interfaces available on Etsy…

This one for instance.

Oh yeah midi fighters… that looks pretty good. What you posted @shigginpit is exactly what I want… buttons closer together for chords… but these are all DIY right? I haven’t seen mechanical keyboard like this on the market…

I thinks it’s oto_denki that does these amazing builds. I think they only sell these stuff for DIY though.
