i´m so out vs. that. My OT days are long gone. Numbers look different today.
What ya think which type of card, numbers of speed should we have at least, respectivly above what number of speed would it be a waste of funds ?

i understand we have different workflows.
Thinking a bit, the TV has 4GB internal memory. Even a 128GB card should be plenty. Looking at prices 256GB seems not much more expensive, if any.
I think i go SanDisc, the 2nd best type, or equal other products.
So i think i take 256GB cards, even if i won´t fully load it per card.
And probably more than one, rather than to fill one card up too much.
Elektron has a poor track record in their choice of freebie cards, the cost of a good card is low and life is too short to deal with the stress of unexpected data loss at the worst possible time.
Team SanDisk here. I’ve been buying 256s and 512s for photography and will probably use one of those.
Which card models are you looking at ? I want to start off on the right foot. I lost a music project on an MPC 1000 compact flash card years ago. Oh the suffering
The information that the standard bank takes about 2 minutes to load is a little frustrating. If we optimistically assume that the bank takes up all 4GB, that’s still 3 times slower than the slowest UHS-I cards (34.1MB/s vs ~90MB/s, even though there are UHS-II, UHS-III, and SD Express, which can deliver much higher speeds).
I would like to believe that such a low speed was due to the slow SD card that comes with Tonverk, or that support for higher-speed cards will be added in future updates (if, of course, this is implemented in hardware).
I’ll be getting a Kingston U3, either 128GB or 256GB. They are cheap as chips ATM, and I’ve had good experiences with them across the board (use them on my M+, Tascam Model 12 and Denon SC Live 2, works like a champ)
I ran an actual search on the forum and found the best match and used that existing topic on SD cards rather than create a duplicate discussion on an arbitrarily created topic.
As I was searching for the same information a few days ago I read that the max capacity is 2TB (at least per Google’s AI info). I got a 2TB card based on that information but have not had a chance to try it in the machine (still trying to just get a handle on it with the factory samples before I try adding my own).
Chances are it doesn’t have a fucking clue and just made that up. Let us know if it works, I’d suspect there’s just so little info about TV online and most of it will be forum talk by people who don’t have it, so how should AI know it?
Yeah, that’s why I mentioned that caveat. No idea if the 2TB limit is legit or not, and I’m not going to be able to test it myself for a while due to some busy days/weeks, but mentioned it because it’s the only hard limit I’ve seen at this time.
A curious person could look up SD cards on wikipedia. They would find that there are multiple subtypes of SD card, and the type determines capacity:
SD: Up to 2 GB
SDHC: Up to 32 GB
SDXC: Up to 2 TB
SDUC: Up to 128 TB
So Google’s AI is guessing that the Toneverk has an SDXC slot and thus 2TB of capacity. This is a reasonable guess since the included card is 64GB, and SDHC only goes up to 32 GB, so the Toneverk should have at least a SDXC slot.
LLMs can be powerful search tools, particularly now that Google’s results are on their way to being hopelessly poisoned by spam. But you should make an effort to find better sources to verify what AIs tell you.
