So i’m working out a live set and having real trouble doing something that seems like it should be quite basic.
I have two tracks, and what i want to do is have 2 scenes setup so that in the first scene, Track 1 will fade out whilst Track 2 fades up as i move the crossfader to the right leaving Track 1 muted and Track 2 at full volume, then i switch to the second scene (crossfader still to the right) which has the same settings so Track 2 is still full volume and then when i move the crossfader back to the left, Track2 is still at full volume and Track1 fades back up.
Put simply i want to fade Track 1 out and Track 2 up together, and then fade Track 1 up . Shouldnt be too hard should it? But for some reason it is!
When i assign different values to Scenes A and B it seems to change the levels together?
If anyones got any ideas would be really appreciated,
It sounds like you might be under the impression that each of the 16 scenes store values for both the A and B side of the crossfader… They do not.
One of the 16 scenes gets assigned to the A OR B button (though you can assign the same scene to both A and B…nothing will change when you move the crossfader because both sides are the same scene).
To do what you want is super easy, you just need 3 scenes…
Scene 1 - Track 1 Volume UP, Track 2 Volume Down
Scene 2 - Track 1 Volume Down, Track 2 Volume Up
Scene 3 - Both Volumes up.
It’s also worth noting that if you assign a blank scene there will be no XVOL settings and so all tracks will be at full volume.
Assign scene 1 to A and scene 2 to B
Now when you move the crossfader to the right track 1 goes down, 2 goes up
Then, assign scene 3 to A… now when you move the crossfader back to the left, track 1 fades back in and you can still hear track 2.
I don’t want to sound like a dick, but I hope you plan on reading that manual a bit more before your first gig, and maybe checking out some youtube videos.
