Makes me wonder: those sample packs, presets which are non-wav files rather sysexes and the crazy M:C ones, how people go about producing them? Just tweaking some knobs then contacting Elektron to issue it? Some presets are available not only on elektron.se. Is there some sort of programming with external software? Could these exact same presets be achieved with synthesis by myself too?

Yes, you don’t need anything - you just need to save/export from the device
Sample packs save you the “trouble” of creating sounds. Kind of ironic…
