Sorry for this noob question but i can t find it anywhere … ( read the manual etc …)
I did a transfer of my own sample in incoming directory then i can access it from the sample page BUT i can t find it in the pool sound library because i what to do some sound lock with my sample … Thanks
The sample itself will not go to the sound pool. The sound pool is for sounds created using all the parameters, including sample. If you want to plock a specific sample only, plock the sample slot.
Be careful using the soundpool between different projects: if you use a sound with a sample in slot 57 in one project, it will use sample slot 57 in another project which might be a totally different sample.
Hope that’s clear…
When looking on the +drive at your samples you have loaded onto the Rytm, remember using your left/right arrows will access different sub-menus. One of them should say something like copy to soundpool. Can’t remember exact terminology and don’t have access to my Rytm right now to check. But, anyways, there are menu options there to copy samples from +drive to the soundpool. Then, once they are in the soundpool, you can begin to p-lock them on the Sample page. (hope that’s clear and hope that’s what you meant to ask about!)
Edit - sorry if I added to the confusion. I get the terminology mixed up too. I think I was just trying to explain you have to actually move samples from the +drive to a project’s 127 slots before using.
Thanks a lot for your answer !
@xidnpnlss i can t plock a slot from my sample … when i change the sound it change for very trig …
@Bwax unfortunately there is no option +drive to sound pool …
the sample menus are a bit of a nightmare at first check this step by step tutorial…very helpful…
Ok lets be sure were on the same page terminology-wise:
Sound - like a preset for an individual track, including synth, sample, amp ect settings
Sound pool - where sounds are saved
+Drive sample bank - all samples on machine
Project sample bank - 127 samples you’ve selected from the +drive for that project
Sample slot - the slot of 127 given to a specific sample.
(This may or may not be official elektron terms.)
A sound includes a sample located in the project’s sample slot. It is not saved to the sound pool as it’s not a sound. You may select from the +drive a sample that will be assigned a sample slot for that project’s sample bank. With that sample, you will create a sound.
You can then plock the sample slot to change a sounds sample for that trig. Hold the trig and use the sample slot pot to select the sample. You may also plock a different, distinct sound from the sound pool.
Ok thanks a lot for the help ! Actualy i think i knew the ( strange ^^) terminology but technically when i load a sample in the sample menu under global i just can load it to project … then i can access from the sample page near the synth one but i don t have any idea how to assign it to a sound …?
Ok so let’s say you load a sample, mess around with the filter, amp whatever. You now have a “sound”. save that sound and its now in your soundpool.
OK !!! Great i got it THANKS A lot !
The Overbridge plugin comes in very handy here. I really struggled getting samples sent to the RYTM then having them show up. The VST made the last step rational.
This came in very handy gents. Thank you.
For any person looking at this for future reference and was having trouble figuring out how to get your external samples into the SOUND POOL, here is the basic method:
To be able to load a sample into the SOUND POOL it must be saved as a sound in the PROJECT and accessible in the SOUND MANAGER.
First load the sound from your computer onto your Rytm. Then load that sample into your PROJECT. Assign the SAMPLE to TRACK. Then hit YES/SAVE & MUTE/SOUND and a list of available slots to assign the SOUND appear. Hit YES/SAVE and name the SOUND. You can now access it in the SOUND MANAGER where you can LOAD it to the SOUND POOL.
If it’s not in the project it can not be loaded to the SOUND POOL.
Took me a while to figure this out. It is not clear in the manual. Not to page 59 anyhow, which is where I am at the moment.
If I have missed anything feel free to correct me.
