Rytm rebooting randomly

Hey guys,

I just got my Analog rytm last Friday. So far I really love it. It’s great. Over the last two days however I noticed that my rytm would just reboot while sitting idle. At first I thought the power was loose, but I have wiggled everything and I can’t make it lose power. Today I fired it up and left it sit all day. It was fine for hours, but I left my apartment for an hour and when I came back I saw it had rebooted. I had left in in scene mode so I could tell if the state had changed. Anyone else have this happen? Any suggestions? Now I am leaving it sit running a sequence to see if it happens while running. Super stoked to have this but a little concerned that $1500 drum machine is showing issues in less than a week. Would be a disaster if it happened while playing live.

Thanks,
Chad

Can’t help with a solution but that is definitely a letdown. I’d say to return it while you’re still within the grace period that the shop probably offers, it’s not worth always wondering if the machine will bail out in the middle of your most epic set.

Well i did a factory reset, and ran a hardware test but I got no errors. I left it playing a pattern overnight. It sat running for about 5-6hours before I went to bed. I woke up and it had stopped at some point. It’s driving me crazy cause there is no apparent reason for this. Sent a support ticket in an contacted Sweetwater. I waited 4 months to get this. Very bummed.

Starting to think it might be the power supply. I metered it and it is putting out 12.21v dc. I know these things are sensitive to power. Can anyone meter their supply and report the output please? Most supplies put out more voltage than the rating. A 12v supply usually puts out closer to 15v. Maybe this is the issue?

So is it just sitting there and reboots or does it happen when you move it a little? My OT does that and it fing shits me to tears. I beleive its the PSU. Get another and sort it all out now while under warranty, mine isnt now so IM screwed.

Yeah. It just happens sitting there. I noticed the power supply is pretty warm. Not sure if that is normal on these. I have tried repeatedly to break it but I can’t. It just seems to do it whenever it wants. Usually after several hours. Happened twice today already.

Hey guys.

I got my brand new Rytm on Saturday and it has been randomly rebooting, some when idle, some mid-play. A few of the times it got stuck in a loop and rebooted 6 or 7 times before it would stay on.

This in the first hour of using it.

And only a week after receiving my brand new Octatrack back from warranty repair after dying completely after about 3 weeks of use.

Anyone else getting these random reboots on the Rytm?

On Friday, had my RYTM go into random reboots and occasional pad crazies and freeze. On two occasions high buzzing noise from outputs when left not playing.

Have ordered a new power supply as the power supply was making noises that to my ear…were not normal.

If new supply does not solve it then i suppose the RYTM has a fault and will have to be repaired.
