Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a small Max for Live device I’ve been working on for my own Analog Rytm MKII setup.
If you need it, you can get there : RYTM MUTE - Control Analog Rytm Mute & Solo from Push 3 - Max for Live MIDI device
I use Push 3 and Ableton Live to sequence the Rytm, and I wanted a simple way to use the normal Drum Rack Mute and Solo controls directly from Push while keeping the Rytm as the sound source.
I couldn’t get the workflow exactly the way I wanted, so I ended up building my own little solution: RYTM MUTE.
The basic workflow is:
Push 3 → RYTM MUTE → Drum Rack → MIDI → Analog Rytm MKII**
You can sequence the Rytm from Push, and the Mute/Solo states of the Drum Rack control which notes are allowed through to the corresponding Rytm tracks. It’s a MIDI device — it doesn’t process the Rytm audio.
I also made a ready-to-use Ableton Live Set because the routing can be a little confusing the first time.
This honestly wasn’t something I originally planned to turn into a product. I was just trying to solve a problem in my own setup, and then thought it might be useful to other Rytm + Push users too.
I’ve released the first version on Gumroad, but I’m also posting here because I’d genuinely be interested to hear how other people are using Rytm + Ableton + Push, and whether anyone has been looking for a similar workflow.
Feedback, ideas, questions, and criticism are very welcome. ![]()
Cheers,
