RYTM freezing issue with Ob and computer

Hello everyone,
My Analog Rytm Ob keeps freezing whenever it’s connected to my computer. I have to switch it off and on again and again, and it’s starting to get really annoying. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Is the data flow too heavy for the device’s memory, so it can’t cope? However, no data is being transferred; I simply open the plugin, work on the device for a while without touching the OB, and then it freezes. What’s the solution? What should I do? Any idea?
Thank you for your help

I’m guessing it’s a pc …
You haven’t posted any details that might help
Pc ? CPU ? Memory ? Motherboard ? Gpu … daw/ standalone … windows version …

Plus have you checked the system requirements on electron website are compatible with what you have ?

And the usual , is the firmware up to date / over bridge up to date .
Have you tried various latency / buffer changes in the over bridge config app ?

Yeah I have a similar problem with AR MkII and.Ob (but also with Elektron Transfer as well). ET is usually solved by factory resetting the AR without flashing all the projects on the box. Ob is usually fixed by turning it off and back on again and it is a bit of a drag.

I’m on Win 11, latest AR firmware.

Yes Pc mac mini m2, 8 gb mem, problem 100% ableton

All devices are up to date. The problem is that this wasn’t happening before. In other words, the system was running smoothly. Now, for some reason, freezes have started occurring. The problem is definitely occurring with the USB connection. The system meets all the necessary requirements. As I said, there was no problem before; it’s only just started, and I’m continuing to investigate which variable is causing this. And something interesting happened – and it almost seemed inevitable. Because there had started to be far too many freezes. Just a moment ago, RYTM stopped working completely. After it froze, I switched the device off and waited for a while. When I tried to switch it on again, it wouldn’t start. However, a feedback loop began to form through the headphone jack, repeating itself and growing like a snowball. There’s sound, but there’s no light or any sign of life on the device itself. There’s just a feedback loop in the headphone output. I switched it off again, waited, and switched it on once more. Apart from the feedback loop, there’s no sign of life. This time, the feedback loop was different from the previous one; a different sound had emerged. I switched it off again. I unplugged the power from the DC-in socket, plugged it back in and switched it on; it didn’t work, but the feedback loop continued. That night, I unplugged it from the DC-in socket and plugged it back in three or five times, and I thought to myself, ‘RYTM’s life must have come to an end here.’ Then, as a last resort, I unplugged the power plug completely from the mains socket, waited a while, and plugged it back in. The RYTM came back to life. Isn’t that a rather strange situation? A peculiar issue arose with the adapter (the original one – I’ve never used any other adapter). Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? It’s quite an interesting situation, isn’t it? I’m going to post this on the Elektron support forum; it’s worth them knowing the reason. Why do you think this might be happening? Does anyone have any ideas? I wonder if we need to completely unplug these devices from the mains every now and then? I’ve written at length because I thought it was something you should know about too. Perhaps unplugging and plugging them back in resets something electrical—I’m not sure—but it might be helpful for users experiencing a similar issue. Best regards

I’d use a second computer and see if you have the same experience :+1:t2::facepunch:t2:

Overbridge is anything but efficient or stable. It’s been like that since day 1. The functionality of Overbridge is very demanding on the CPU. It makes my MacBook Air M3 very sluggish and my grey MK2 freezes up. Even before I bought my Rytm years ago, I knew not to rely on Overbridge from all I’ve read. So it’s nothing I can be disappointed about. I always considered it a beta. I’m sure it’ll improve eventually.
