I am on thinking of purchasing an Octatrack and still on the fence… I am curious if you are able to route audio inputs to only the cue outputs? I would like to use the send from my MX-1 and apply the Octactrack effects and also record samples and return on the cue outputs as stereo. I have a Digitone and this works great but the send only goes out the main outputs. I am looking at a 1010 blackbox or an Octatrack. Just sold my Digitakt as it did not do loops. I would really like to use the Octatrack as an Fx box with its own dedicated outputs. Can I say route just the audio inputs to the headphone jack or the cue outs only?
Yes. You can set Main and Cue levels independently for each track / machine (except track 8 if set to Master fx, being Main only).
Inputs can be also directly routed to Main (DIR 0-127) or Cue (CUE + AB/CD, level 100 only).
Headphones have a mix setting between Main and Cue.

Thanks for the response. The Octatrack does seem like it would work for that…Do any of you happen to know if the Analog Rhythm MK2 can also do this? So I would be sending my send out from MX-1 and returning on an individual separate from master output so it could be used as an FX processor? I am starting to look at the analog rhythm but it looks like it plays one shots instead of loops from what I can tell so far.
Not sure about MKII, but MKI inputs goes before Compressor, only fx you can get (no reverb and delay send). Goes to Main, not to individual inputs.
Afaik for DT/ARMKII record monitoring don’t help, I’d be happy to be wrong.
