First day with it. I’m finding when I switch kits the knob assignments I make for one kit seem to effect every kit I switch too but I also might be mistaken.
Either way is there anyway to reset the kit to its original settings?

Anyone have any luck importing samples with the app? I could drag and drop mp4 files into the import samples window (supposedly the app can import m4a’s according to the documentation), made a new folder and executed it. It took a few seconds and a progress bar was shown and completed.
But then how to find those on the TR? The folder I made doesn’t show up when I go to assign the gen. I also tried with a USB stick and none of the files show up there, which makes sense as via USB m4a format isn’t supported. Is this a bug with the app? Or I’m doing something wrong or looking in the wrong place…
The new feature of “reflect to gain” mixer mode is great but seems like they took out the 8s feature using Shift + Ctrl Select to see other overviews and adjust other parameters like reverb/delay sends.
I can get by pressing INST button + reverb/delay knobs to quickly adjust each track’s sends but just want to make sure I didn’t miss it somewhere.
been messing around with it for a couple hours now…
had some questions while using it that i jotted down, some i answered myself but still wondering a couple things.
and these are just some other random thoughts and notes—
really fun machine! reminds me of playing fallout 3 when it came out (iykyk)
I’m trying this out exactly as the manual states and it isn’t working. If you get a chance, try setting up a generator with a effect and the hit [EXIT] + [FX]. My effect settings are still there after doing this. Same with filter settings. EXIT + Filter and hitting ENTER does nothing.
can confirm, these seem to do nothing.
Also annoying that you have to hold EXIT, press FILTER, then keep holding EXIT and press ENTER to actually clear it (if it worked)
I just import samples from USB drive and when it asks for ‘category’ I make a new one that matches the sample folder I’m importing … probably not the best approach but it’s a kind of workaround. I don’t really like the sample import / storage method on the TR-1000.
Maybe this was answered earlier but just to be clear:
If you have a an Elektron machine like the OT or DNII for example, as master and the TR-1000 as slave – will the TR be delayed and play out of sync?
Yes.
Even using layered gens, selecting sync over midi? Also, just checking - I think I saw it mentioned in one of the threads that the TR has a fine tuning type function for timing, but I can’t seem to find it in the manual?
with layered gens on it is still a little behind, as a midi slave but its pretty close.
Nudge. But you lose it if switch patterns I believe. And layered gems is about 8ms delay.
Can’t find nudge in the manual either.
8ms is just right on the borderline of acceptability for me, but I guess the solution would be to use it as master clock unless you’ve got another device that you really really want to have that role and that has clock delay/compensation.
nudge can be used by hitting the TEMPO button and then nudging using the right/left arrow buttons. but yes, it does reset to zero each time you stop/start.
Couldn’t find this in the manual, but is anyone aware of a way to have the sample end of a slice play through the entire sample instead of the end of the slice? Basically ignore the end parameter that is set.
Yikes… something bad just happened. Box just froze up on me and I had to physically unplug the power supply to get it to turn off. Power switch did nothing.
I had been editing some samples and saving them as instruments. Then I did a save → overwrite and it froze on the confirmation screen. I may have pressed start before confirming the save because the machine was playing when I noticed the confirm page. Tried to confirm but it was frozen on the screen. Pressed stop and it stopped, but no other input was recongized from that point on. Turned it off with the power switch and nothing. Had to unplug and plug it back in. Seems to be working fine now, has lost anthing not saved before the crash though.
Mine locked up yesterday for the first time.
It was just looping a kick drum over, sequenced externally. I went away for a few minutes and when I came back it was still playing but not responding to anything on the panel.
Power switch didn’t do anything.
Mine was updated, factory reset and calibrated.
So wait. When syncing from external gear, does the TR-1000 have an option for START/STOP only?
Or does it have to sync to midi clock?
Because what I’m reading is, the TR1000 is out of time when synced to external gear. And that’s not good.
If it truly is only the clock that syncs, what happens if you set the tempos to match?
I’m on the verge of trading some gear for one but if I can’t use it with other gear, that’s an issue for me.
And. At close to $3k, that’s messed up when $150 devices sync super tight.
It syncs to midi clock but from what I hear it’s not super tight at this point. Haven’t tried it, it’s been the master since I got it
Hope they have some firmware updated relatively soon to address this stuff
