Sample and hold taken to the extreme.
It really does make me wonder, or justify, why I see the TR1000 along with an additional drum machine at Speedy J and other live artistsâ sets.
Iâve yet to see someone go absolutely ape-shit live with one. Which is kinda ironic given how they positioned it in the market.
Sample and hold hostage
It can go alright tooâŚ
but getting ⌠a light feeling of insecurity since yesterday knowing this could happen in August at my gigs.
Will for sure not change Morphing scenes in the set before an update release.
Has it been confirmed that the latest batch in Europe / UK shipped with 1.20? I finally received my order yesterday (via Juno UK), box was not factory sealed and the unit itself is on 1.15. Trying to figure out if I got sent a customer return or otherwise repaired unit and not one of the latest batch.
Itâs such a shame that everyone seems so suspicious/nervous about taking a new Roland Flagship product- one way or another Roland have really Fâed up this launch up (but at the same time there isnât much talk about it outside of a few forums, maybe as so few people own units or reviewers/influencers donât want to upset Roland)
Live 3 is fine man. The instrument either clicks or it doesnât.
Ainât no way of knowing, bud.
I say this as a new MPC user. I dig it more than Push 3 and it works with my hardware set up, as well as standalone.
But I get the struggle. If youâre new to the instrument and havenât dug into the manual and practiced, then it could be that itâs simply too new to determine if itâs a right fit for you.
If you got folk in your community who use it, try to connect with others and jam.
Those who have ordered and received a unit in the UK or EU in the last 2 weeks since the new batch became available would know what version their unit shipped with?
Theyâre well-established. There should really be no excuse after 40 some odd years in the game, to release something that doesnât have the issues plaguing it in the thread. Itâs not a 300$ drumlogue; itâs 3k. Theyâre asking to continually trust them without taking the right measures to prevent all this in the first place. Maybe itâs just the state of product management these days but it seems people have to temper their expectations when traditional psychology is price=some form of stabilityâand paying a luxury price is paying for the craftsmanship. The more you pay in relation to the market, the more you expect that the craftsman has their shit in order. Roland is becoming what Range Rover used to be to luxury vehicles
Pls make up your mind, and donât engage in this witch hunt behavior, yes there are some problems, but as numerous people here accounted for, and demonstrated on YouTube, it is not that bad.
If this makes it unplayable for you, I am sorry, keeping my fingers crossed for a fast fix, but playing in clubs throughout my whole uni, no one fucking hears when a DJ fucks up, only other djs, and you donât play music for these select few, you got a whole party to get going.
It is the same with the TR1000, no one would give a flying fuck in a club in the middle of the night.
yes ![]()
I feel a sense of massive relief. Thanks for confirming Iâm not going mad!
As for the button paint issue: I had been waiting for Roland to receive replacement button parts, and on Thursday they said they had gotten them in stock and they sent me a prepaid shipping label (which is nice, that would have been an expensive box to ship).
I packed the TR-1000 and shipped it right out. They said the turnaround time should be just a few days after they receive it, so weâll see.
I am on the east coast of the US and their repair depot is on the west coast in CA, so I anticipate it to be gone for about 3 weeks.
In the meantime Iâve swapped my Analog Rytm MK2 into my live rig. Itâs also an amazing machine
And much smaller!
Itâs a 3k machine with problemsâthereâs no âwitchunt behaviorâ especially if you search my previous posts in here itâs the contrary. It makes it unplayable in a live setting. Iâm not sure what videos youâre watching but itâs pretty demonstrable that itâs a frustration point. Someone just showed you it freezing in the yt video above. And contrary to your myopic view on things, people donât just use it âin a clubâ. Theyâre using it anywhere they play out, be it a small party, day-party, etcâŚ
I apologize if a swift dose of reality hit you that the principles of successful product management are still scrutinized by folks when products are at large pricepoints, but you being bent over my comment isnât my issue. We know the reality is that products are being pushed out prematurely and consumers are being asked to pay a nice sum for it. Continually lowering the bar instead of expecting something higher out of a company is how you sink into the land of mediocrity.
I have no qualms theyâll sort it over time, but that really isnât the point. The point is that for such a large company with years under their belt, they somehow messed this up. There was no reason to release early (itâs a beaten dead horse at this point). Now theyâve set the bar for whatâs acceptable at a higher price point
Well how do you know itâs unplayable? You played with it on a gig and the janky sync ruined the night? I donât want to engage in such conversations, please refrain from them in USERS thread, there is a second thread for all the off-topic stuff, thank you! ![]()
