Roland TR-1000 Rhythm Composer

I didn’t give a second thought as to whether or not someone’s uncle worked at Roland. (on either side of it)

One true story is that my cousin and uncle actually WERE friends with a guy that worked at Roland in the mid 90s. He was selling his 909 for $250 at the time. I thought that was too high at that time, and decided not to buy it. That was perhaps a mistake.

Yeah I get that, my uncle actually does work at Roland, but he works on electric pianos so he doesn’t have the inside info

Yeah, I’m not sure what that guy did back then (the one with the 909). I want to say it was US support or sales or something like that. Office job.

A subscription to use your analog instrument - that’s rich!

Guessing it’s a complete workstation at that price. Looks massive too!

Love the rumored outs/sync options.

…they own all the boss pedals. I’m sure if they wanted to put the RV series reverbs in they would be able to, the SH4D has some boss pedal sounds as track fx.

If it’s analog subscription it will likely have a coin slot, maybe add a dollar for 10 kicks etc

yeah, even for a VST that’s bogus. the only time I can understand companies doing lockout from license checks is if it’s an active cloud service and you’re using a distributed site license kind of thing with a set number of paid seats available. If I brought my laptop to a cabin to record some music in peace and they pulled that I would lose it.

At long last an analog drum machine that accepts bertcoin.

My uncle doesn’t work at Roland but he frequents the same bar as John Roland himself. He overheard John saying that the TR-1000 WILL come with a new starter Pokemon and yes it WILL be a blue version of Pikachu

If you think about it, “TR-1000” is a really bold name for Roland imo.
