I’m going to save my money for the Elektron Machinedrum reissue
hey roland i dare you to make me cancel my prepreorder for hexdrums
It’s pretty wild that Roland and Akai are probably releasing new machines within the same week, considering this is Rolands answer to the Akai Rhythm Wolf and Tom Cat.
Ya, I have the sp404 and enjoy it, but I didn’t get into the compact series. Age of audience matters since wouldn’t you want to capture all along the age spectrum instead of focused on a specific age group? I have a slew of boutiques whose build I love (other than usb power and 1/8" outs) and wish they built the rest of their lines similarly to the boutique lines
So with the Canadian music store quasi-leak giving us a $2500 USD price and the silhouette image showing the shape, this TR-1000 seems to be in the same market niche as the MPC-X.
Yeah, along that line of thought it seems like it will sit in the Jupiter X tier but drum and/or groove box world.
Yea true, always going to want a nice big segment - I’m not convinced they appeal to one more than the other - but who knows! They’re a bit like Akai in that they have a good combination of legacy and new paradigms - although I do think that Roland trade more on nostalgia, but as a 40 something dude that’s something I appreciate ![]()
TR-1000 sounds substantial
You must be in my brain… I’ve been thinking and talking about this this week. I’d love a proper Roland MV (not the MV1) to use with my SP404, and allow me to fully de-Akai.
I’m so pumped for this. AIRA hasn’t released something substantial in a long time. I’m hoping for new models and FX.
I know.
Hey now, don’t forget about the SP-404A, which was a pretty substantial…paint job.
That thing doesn’t count man.

Wow, I didn’t realize how old the TR-8S until now—2018.
wheres the T1000 vs Tonverk thread. its been over an hour…
T1000 - which polysynth to go with it
T1000 - which fx to go on the end of chain
T1000 - which drum machine to compliment
T1000 - bugs
T1000 - feature requests
T1000 - which mono synth ?
T1000 - features required for the V2, V3, V4
and the inevitable (which has already hit this thread)
T1000- is it relevant in 2025/2026 and for the next 40+ years…
Damn, time flies.
Ok I’m mad hyped for this
Meanwhile MPC Live 3 speculation is dead and people are left to pick over the bones of the FCC photo carcass. ![]()
